COMMUNITY & PARTNERSHIPS

I help music and creative industry organisations build engaged communities and meaningful partnerships that drive growth and connection.

Through strategic planning, community management and partnership development, I create systems and experiences that strengthen relationships, expand networks and increase visibility.

My experience includes leading global membership growth at the Association for Electronic Music and co-founding Beat Collective, a grassroots producer community in Melbourne. I’ve helped organisations and teams improve engagement, streamline operations and curate impactful events and collaborations that connect artists, audiences and industry.

If you’re looking to grow your community, develop partnerships or design events that make a real impact, I can help you build the strategy, structure and relationships to make it happen.

Client / Project:

Association for Electronic Music (AFEM) – Global Membership Growth and Community Strategy
Membership Manager - August 2022- August 2025 (Global / Berlin, Germany)

Challenge
AFEM wanted to expand its global membership and strengthen engagement across 41 countries while improving operational systems and creating more meaningful ways for members to connect and contribute.

Approach
As Membership Manager, I led global membership engagement and growth, shaping strategies that combined outreach, relationship management and process design. I implemented a new CRM system and designed streamlined onboarding and communication processes that improved accuracy, efficiency and member experience.

I spoke regularly with members to understand their needs and feedback, curating events and panels that positioned them as thought leaders on topics they cared about from diversity and inclusion to mental health and sustainability.

I also represented AFEM at international networking events, building partnerships and securing new paying members through targeted outreach and authentic connection.

Alongside daily engagement, I took initiative on new projects and created resources and speaking opportunities to increase visibility and collaboration across the network.

Impact

Since starting the role in 2022, AFEM’s membership grew by nearly 50%, with 186 new members onboarded globally.

The systems and strategies I developed strengthened retention, improved communication and created a more connected, active and trusted international community.

Select examples of work:

Social Events: AFEM Members Dinners (Berlin, Germany) inviting Members and the wider prominent music industry professionals visiting and based in Berlin. It coincided with activities at the Most Wanted Music conference in 2023.

AFEM LinkedIn Live: Professional Coaching in the Music Industry (2024)
I curated a panel of speakers from AFEM’s membership and the wider music industry community, facilitating and moderating the live online event. The session was well attended, sparked valuable discussion and led to new membership enquiries.

AFEM, BumaStemra, Buma Music in Motion and Strichting RIOT “10 Ideas to Foster Safer Spaces in the Music Industry Workplace” at Amsterdam Dance Event 2024

The session explored how the music industry to move from discussion to action, bringing together artists, excutives and change-makers to share practical steps to build safer and more inclusive working environments.

I was asked to moderate the session again following the success of the previous roundtable at ADE in 2023 themed on barriers to inclusivity, diversity and representation of songwriters/artists. Speakers includes Louisahh (DJ/Consent Educator), Albert Grüber (Riverside Studios/SEEQNC/The Lab), Jackie Queens (Bae Electronica), Michèle Hamelink (Sony) and  Yas Mayou (Artist).

From this discussion, I created a report and chose five key take-aways from the session as shareable social assets designed to continue reflection and action.

Beat Collective – Grassroots Community Building and Creative Development
Co-Founder - August 2016-July 2019 (Melbourne, Australia)

Challenge

My mission was to create a regular network of peers for Melbourne’s emerging electronic music producers a space where artists could connect, collaborate and grow outside of traditional education or commercial settings. There was a clear need for community-driven opportunities that encouraged creative exchange and collective development.

Approach
As Co-Founder and Creative Producer, I built and led a six-person committee to design and deliver initiatives that fostered creativity, connection and growth. Within the first year, we launched multiple community-driven projects, including a fortnightly beat cypher challenge, an online radio and video series, and a monthly live showcase for local producers.

I produced sold-out collaborative synth and songwriting workshops at Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio, developed partnerships with cultural organisations to expand programming, and curated a diverse live music series featuring emerging artists. I oversaw all aspects of production, from programming and artist relations to marketing, budgeting and stage management.

Impact

Beat Collective became a recognised hub for Melbourne’s underground electronic music scene, building an engaged network of producers and audiences. The community created pathways for collaboration, performance and skill development, helping nurture a new generation of independent electronic artists.

in 2025, it continues today with new managers but I am proud to have laid the foundations to make it a lasting success.
