Roz Yuen is an Avant-pop powerhouse who defies genre boundaries, seamlessly fusing trip-hop, dubstep, and experimental electronic music to create a unique sonic landscape characterized by ethereal vocals, intricate beats, and thoughtful lyrics. Her live performances are a mesmerizing experience that takes the audience on a dynamic and exciting journey through sound, movement, and visuals, leaving them entranced by her bold and otherworldly presence on stage.
Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Roz has been honing her craft for over a decade. She garnered a loyal fan base and radio plays with her whimsical Yé-yé indie-pop album 'Tiny Goddess’, which featured songs that were synced on numerous Australian television shows. Encouraged by her success, she moved to London to explore the world of electronic music and production. Returning to Melbourne, she co-founded the 'Beat Collective' music producer community and experimented at the Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio, honing her sound further.
In 2017, Roz received an arts scholarship to study Music Production and Sound Engineering in Berlin, where she's been living ever since. Her independent concept album and live show 'Awakening' garnered acclaim for its exploration of pandemic-related upheaval and socio-political issues. Her talents also caught the attention of APRA x Future Echoes, and she was invited to participate in a songwriting camp in Sweden.
Inspired by visionaries like Björk and FKA Twigs, Roz collaborates with artists worldwide on various interdisciplinary projects. Notable collaborations include an award-winning audiovisual commission with LA Video Director Sydney Mills, an interactive web experience with Turkish creative technologist Ali Somay and Visual Artist Başak Ünal, and a 3D projection-mapping project with Tokyo Artist Suzanne D'Bel.
Fearlessly forging her own path in music with authentic emotional expression and a unique sound that serves as a voice for both introspection and addressing critical social and political issues, Roz is an artist to watch. Her ability to fuse diverse genres and create an impactful experience sets her apart from her peers, making her a captivating and boundary-pushing artist on the rise.

ALBUM/EP
Awakening (2021)
Roz Yuen’s Awakening is an experimental electronic pop album of six songs written during the Covid-19 lockdown in Berlin. The record builds a rich and immersive sonic world where soulful vocals are blurred, harmonised, bent and glitched in surprising ways against a backdrop of textural ambience and lo-fi dub beats. The album reflects on isolation, resilience, and the shifting human condition during a time of uncertainty.

REVIEWS
“Engulfed in catchy melodies and rich textural soundscapes, whispered conversations with an ex-lover create a melancholic atmosphere as Roz takes the listener on an emotional journey.”
— Nicole Philips, Kaltblut Magazine (Germany)
“Australian frontwoman channels the ethereal spirit of FKA Twigs…”
— Chris Conor, Mystic Sons (United Kingdom)
“Yuen's own brand of electronic pop is intimate and understated.”
— Holly Mullineaux, The Most Radicalist (United Kingdom)
“…melodic vocals float eerily over the cavernous composition, and glitch heavy samples resulting in a sonic representation of negative space… simple on the surface, yet incredibly complex upon further inspection. This doesn't just allow for somber reflection, but also a new listening experience with each play.”
— Luke Byatt, Futuremag Music (Australia)
“…sensual lyrics….ethereal sound design…a very intimate and personal track…human”
— Lucas Pascholatti, Synths of Eden (Netherlands)
“Confession is a work with rich textural structure”
